For most of us, 2020 has been a great challenge. The threat of a global pandemic continues to loom over us, and the amount of uncertainty this year has given us is enough to make even the strongest quiver, and yet, here at Teleperformance—we persist to withstand the challenges, overcome the disruption, and remain committed to the safety, well-being, and health of our employees, our peers, and the communities where we live. With 2020 coming to a close, we face 2021 with a grounded optimism that allows us to be even stronger together.
We look back at some of Teleperformance’s corporate social responsibility initiatives spearheaded by our lovely teams over in India—projects made possible by the relentless passion of our employees who volunteered and donated to our Citizen of the World (COTW) and Citizen of the Planet (COTP) events. Always ensuring that health and safety guidelines were observed while in action, our teams at Teleperformance in India showed true compassion and care in the midst of a difficult time, and also helped pave way for the future of underprivileged kids in their local communities. These are the kind of meaningful interactions that are closest to our hearts—the ones that produce countless smiles and warm connections to create a positive impact for our communities.
Here are a few of our CSR initiatives at Teleperformance in India:
Saluting the COVID-19 Warriors
Since the beginning of the pandemic, healthcare professionals have truly been selfless warriors, giving up everything to uphold their job responsibilities, even at the cost of cutting themselves off from their families and loved ones. To salute these warriors and their indomitable spirit, Teleperformance in India gifted customized essential kits to 1,000 healthcare workers at hospitals in Delhi and Mumbai as a sign of gratitude.
Future Ready @ Teleperformance
Teleperformance in India partnered with eight NGOs to improve the lives and bring educational support to more than 1,500 underprivileged children across India through monetary contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteer hours. This year, our teams at Teleperformance in India took a step further by collaborating with the NGOs to prepare the students for a bright corporate career. Preeti Acharya, Recruitment Head at Teleperformance in India, conducted an educational session with the students of Udaan NGO, Mumbai on resume building and how to crack personal interviews. Teleperformance in India also prepared a business curriculum to teach employable skills to students, supported under this COTW initiative. The students who were trained through the curriculum will be eligible for recruitment at Teleperformance in India.
Literacy India Virtual Talk
Capt. Indraani Singh, founder of Literacy India, addressed COTW students from all our NGO partners and Teleperformers on the importance of literacy. She also answered questions from the students on a range of topics such as women empowerment, stress management, how to face challenges, and shared her success stories to motivate the students.
Virtual Visual Therapy Session
RJ Keisha Lobo conducted a visual therapy session with the students of our partner NGOs. In the session, participants are encouraged to imagine and feel the positive aspects of our life through the medium of dance.
Col. Sandesh Sharma Virtual Talk
Col. Sandesh Sharma, a war veteran, motivated COTW students by narrating stories from his own life. He inspired them and taught them how to face challenges. 147 students benefitted from the session.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our teams at Teleperformance in India who have volunteered in our CSR activities, virtual events, and programs! Let's continue to make a positive impact and be there for one another whenever we can. See you soon at your local COTW/COTP event!
