Free to be at TP: Celebrating Pride Month

Teleperformance - 06.01.2023

This Pride Month, Teleperformance strengthens our commitment to cultivate a diverse and inclusive workplace culture where our employees can express themselves and reach their full potential.

As an equal opportunity employer, we strive to establish and thrive in a workplace culture where respect runs through each and every one of us. In doing so, we are able to embrace one another’s differences and amplify our people’s voices in a safe environment that constantly allows diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) to shine. Here, our employees are #FreeToBeAtTP!

Teleperformance creates workplaces that respect all sexual orientations and gender identities through equal rights, equal benefits, and equal opportunities. Together, we raise awareness, promote understanding, and bring a sense of community to our employees through conversations, training, and initiatives. To date, 91% of Teleperformance employees have championed our DE&I initiatives by becoming certified in our diversity and inclusion training.

Join us as we take a look at our initiatives that empower and bring pride to our LGBTQIA+ employees – inspiring them to be free at TP!

Beyond labels

Our “Beyond Labels” initiative launched awareness programs and conversations that raised awareness on gender and equity. Its goal is to boost the voices of our LGBTQIA+ communities worldwide through social media posts, in-person activities, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. On the program, Chief People Officer Alan Winters said:

"
"
Our aim with our ‘Beyond Labels’ program was to move the needle on global participation, tapping into employees that identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. We also realize how important the promotion of mental health is to the LGBTQIA+ community and continue to create safe spaces and supportive programs to assist those with invisible struggles.

Celebrating Pride in the metaverse

Recognizing the need to adapt to the latest trends and digital advancements, in 2022 Teleperformance sponsored a Pride parade that happened in Decentraland, an interactive virtual reality simulation set in the metaverse.

Project Charlie

By promoting an inclusive culture that actively addresses diverse and underrepresented groups, we can increase engagement, provide a sense of belonging for staff, and embrace workplace diversity. An inclusive culture can also boost innovation, decision-making, and performance by leveraging the diverse perspectives and experiences of employees. A good example of this is “Project Charlie” that was started as a request from one of our representatives in Portugal who identifies as nonbinary and prefers to be known by their chosen name and not their legal name. This served as a motivation for our team in Portugal to find a solution for situations such as this. By working with our development team, they initiated Project Charlie to make it possible to use one’s preferred name in our internal tools. This innovation is now available around the world and benefits everyone.

"
"
Seeing the deadname every day in all the systems and having to use it all day triggers dysphoria, anxiety, and can lead to depression or worse. Being able to change the systems to show my chosen name would not only help me mentally but would also show other people that Teleperformance is inclusive and open in welcoming all identities.

Our efforts to push for equity and inclusion continue to ring loud and proud 24/7. Yet, we know that Pride Month is the perfect avenue for us to celebrate and recognize Teleperformance’s LGBTQIA+ community even louder and prouder.

We must continue to push through the boundaries that stop us from achieving equity. Everyone has a seat at the table, and we want to hear everyone’s voice.  We also want to take the time to celebrate Pride Month with PRIDE!

Remember, YOU matter and YOU can be part of this change!

Happy Pride!
